🚢 Ahoy friends!

This is Corey with a bit of an update on our lil' boat game.

We hit some snags when trying to stabilize multiplayer for a wider commercial release, so we've made the decision to put multiplayer modes on indefinite hold. It's a bummer to cross out at least two of the letters in the "MOBA" acronym, but we're a small crew without external funding, and we need to triage for what's working with the game. We'd hate for you to get five friends together only to have your match sink... because it de-synced. Still working on those boat puns 🚣‍♂️

That said, we'd love to get it working to it's true glory. If you like our little project, then tell your friends and pitch in! 

Even with multiplayer mode in the hold, our Island-hopping single player game is loaded to the gunwales with new bits and bobs! Ships can be upgraded, and new munitions installed. Plenty of new sounds are included, and we even have a 11-part sea shanty that grows with your conquests (press the 'C' key to toggle it on and off).

Some crew members are taking a well-earned break from Bota, but fret not! I quite enjoy making new sounds and music for our cozy little game. You can expect at least a few more updates on the sonic front, and I will do what I can to improve any quality of life fixes that arise.
